After the Birth of Adam & Eve
In this series of my paintings, I have adopted formal images (human forms, beasts, and other objects) based on surrealism. They are quite different from Freudian theory. These objects are not from my subconscious state of mind, rather they are the outcome of my consciously perceiving the world and treating it as if it were a dream.
I wanted to depict the way the flow of our social lives, i.e. how humanity is turning into a beast through the various complexities of our socio-political behaviors. The increase in violence, crime, beastiality, intolerance, continuously push us into a corner where our existence is uncertain.
The goats, fruits, snake - these symbolic objects always play a vital role to express my mood into my canvas. The black goat - the symbol of brutality; the snake - the luring instinct of humanity; fruits such as the banana, apple - these are symbols of lust and desire - and repeatedly haunt the courtyard of my world and my paintings.
My main attempt in this series has been, above all else, the proper juxtaposition of lines and forms on a pictorial surface. Color is used purely 'for color's sake' and does not have any other symbolic or subjective value. Spatial depth here has been shown through clear linear drawing, rather than a tonal receding depth.
